Share your story about why you considered and ultimately had cosmetic surgery.

After giving birth to 6 children, the last two being 2 years ago, my body was ready for an overhaul. I didn't look terrible but I wanted to be able to undress in front of my husband without feeling self-conscious. I went in for consultation and everything just fell into place - a raise and financing at an awesome rate just happened at the right time, without it taking away from the family. I also got a little encouragement from my husband telling me to go bigger!

How did your friends and family feel about your decision to have a procedure?

I didn't tell too many people. I felt it was a personal private decision but my husband was very supportive and encouraged me to do it. Several other people I told, wanted more information because they possibly wanted to do something. My mother did not want me to have it done. She told me I was beautiful the way I was, but she did tell me after surgery that my nose was beautiful. My kids don't know. I was able to play it off by telling them I had purchased a new bra (a wonder bra) and that I had to have a deviated septum surgery. I also told them that I had scar tissue taken out of my abdomen because of the c-sections. Thankfully, they believed me because they are impressionable teenage girls.

How did 1800MySurgeon help you through the process of finding a qualified plastic surgeon?

1800mySurgeon provided me with the telephone number to a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, who was completely checked out with the Department of Consumer Affairs and had no complaints filed against him.

Can you describe your surgery and recovery?

Surgery took about 5 hours. I came out of surgery joking through the pain. Once I got home, I took the pain medication and felt much better. Once the pain pump came off and the drains came out, I was very relieved. If I  only had the rhinoplasty and breast augmentation, I would have only been down for about 3 days. I'm still recovering from the tummy tuck procedure.

What advice would you give to another person considering your same procedure?

Make sure that if you have small children that you have lots of help. Take the time to recover before you try to resume your normal activities otherwise recovery will take you much longer.

How do you feel about your result?

I am extremely pleased with the results. I am 3 1/2 weeks post-operation and the scar on my tummy on one side is barely visible. It's amazing! I can finally wear shirts and everything is where it is supposed to be now!
