Contour ThreadLift™ Overview

There is a way to get a facelift with impressive results, without surgery and downtime. The Contour ThreadLift™ is an new mini facelift that can be performed in less than an hour. Contour ThreadLift™ makes it possible for individuals with droopy cheeks, brows and areas of the neck to have a non-surgical facelift. This results in a natural younger look. The Contour ThreadLift™ works with Contour Threads™. Local freezing anesthesia makes it possible for these smooth, barbed Contour Threads™ to be inserted beneath the skin and looped around deep brow, cheek, jowl or neck with a hollow bore needle. This LoopLift™ raises the Contour Threads™ towards the hairline.

It is possible to get additional lift and support. The surgeon inserts a second set of threads using the same needle to grasp the soft tissue. The surgeon then lifts and shapes these areas as desired. The Contour ThreadLift™ is very safe and it produces immediate results. No surgery is involved and the threads can be altered for more lift whenever needed for up to 5 years.

Questions to Ask Your Prospective Plastic Surgeon

Once you’ve made an appointment for a consultation, take the time to prepare a list of questions and concerns you want to address with your prospective plastic surgeon. The consultation is your opportunity to assess the plastic surgeon as much as it is their opportunity to determine your candidacy for the procedure. Take your time, be thorough and know that you are never required to commit to a procedure or a plastic surgeon because you’ve had a consultation, even if the consultation is free.

Contour ThreadLift™ differs from other types of facelifts, which will also lift the areas of the face and neck. Some plastic surgeons will use different techniques to achieve a successful Contour ThreadLift™. You want to make sure that you choose a plastic surgeon whose work you admire. You will be able to see the outcome of some of their surgeries by looking at before-and-after pictures. Have the plastic surgeon thoroughly explain their procedure and why they value a certain technique more than others.

Make sure to speak to the anesthesiologist before you schedule a surgery, and inform them of any allergies or reactions you have to any medications. Make sure to tell both your plastic surgeon and the anesthesiologist if you have any pre-existing medical conditions.

This list of information may help you compile your questions and may encourage you to do some further research on the many different aspects of Contour ThreadLift™:

  • How long does the procedure take to complete?
  • How does the procedure work?
  • Do the results have long term effects?
  • How long will recovery take?
  • Would it be beneficial for me to have a Contour ThreadLift™?
  • What are the costs involved?

If you’re consulting with a plastic surgeon from, you can rest assured that you will be meeting with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon. If you already have a plastic surgeon in mind, our qualified patient coordinators can also perform a background check before you schedule your consultation. Most importantly, always trust your instincts during the consultation. The success of your surgical experience will be based on how you feel about your plastic surgeon, the surgery, your recovery and your result.

Contour ThreadLift™ Recovery

Since the Contour ThreadLift™ procedure is a non-surgical procedure, it requires almost no recovery time. Most patients reduce the swelling and bruising by using ice compresses for 24-48 hours after the procedure. Makeup is also used to cover up the bruising and swelling. The patient should take some preventative measures after the procedure, such as avoiding damage or displacing of the threads from the face and/or neck tissues. The way to do this is by avoiding rough facial rubbing, sleeping on your back and not on your stomach, unnecessary facial gesturing and opening of the mouth. In just three weeks after the procedure, you do not need to take these preventative measures any more.

Contour ThreadLift™ Risks

Make sure your plastic surgeon addresses all of your questions and concerns to your satisfaction. During your consultation, you will want to ask your plastic surgeon about the following risks:

  • What are the chances of infection?
  • Should I be concerned about scar tissue formation?
  • Will the threads shift from their place? Will they break? What risks are involved in these cases?
  • If I have thin skin, will the threads show from underneath?
  • What can I do in case I don’t notice results?

It is important to remember that no plastic surgeon can guarantee your satisfaction with Contour ThreadLift™ nor can they deny any risk factors. No matter how rarely risks occur, every surgery carries a certain amount of risk, and you have to decide for yourself if your potential desired result is worth the risk.

Long Term Results of Contour ThreadLift™

As we get older, our tissues weaken and we begin to lose facial fat. We notice that the support structures in our face and neck begin to sag. For those who notice this sagging and tissue weakening in the face, brow area, jowls or neck regions, a Contour ThreadLift™ is a good option. It is a good alternative to a secondary formal facelift, which is required within 20 years of the first facelift. It is a simple procedure that can last up to 5 years or more, depending on how often you get a readjustment.
